Stop number two on our tour is the historic Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks, at the Headwaters of the Missouri River. The hotel has been the gem of this small Montana community and continues to be an important symbol of Montana history. The 1910 building has withstood the test of time, and has recently been preserved to its vibrant origins. The renovation was completed just in time to celebrate the hotel’s 100-year anniversary.
Our guide for the tour will be hotel owner and CEO of Wheat Montana, Dean Folkvord, who will share the history of the area and the story of the hotel and the renovation undertaken by the Folkvord family to restore the building to its former glory.
We’ll also be grabbing a quick dinner on this stop, as there’s a whole lot more to see before we nestle into our beds at the C’Mon Inn in Bozeman.
